The Ministry of External Affairs announces the launch of the Scholarship Programme for Diaspora Children (SPDC) for the Academic Year 2025–26.
The scheme provides financial assistance towards tuition fees, admission fees and institutional charges to eligible diaspora students pursuing Undergraduate courses in India.
🔹 Who can apply?
• Children of NRIs / PIOs / OCIs
• Children of Indian Workers in ECR countries
• Applicable to students from all foreign countries
🔹 Key Highlights
✅ Total 150 scholarships available
• 50 scholarships reserved for Children of Indian Workers in ECR countries
• 50% scholarships reserved for female applicants in each category
• Selection on Merit-cum-Means basis
🎓 Course Eligibility
• Undergraduate courses in recognized Indian institutions
• Medical UG students eligible from 2nd to 5th year
• Applicants must have already secured admission
🏫 Institutions Covered
• Central Universities
• NAAC ‘A’ Grade UGC-recognized institutions
• NITs, IIITs, Schools of Planning & Architecture (through DASA)
💰 Scholarship Amount
• 75% of Institutional Economic Cost (IEC)
• Subject to a maximum of USD 4,000 per annum
(IEC includes tuition, hostel & institutional charges; food excluded)
