Tirana
Embassy of India, Tirana hosted a reception on the occasion of the 77th Republic Day of India at Hotel Mak Albania in Tirana on 2 February 2026, which was attended by about 145 guests, including local dignitaries, Heads of Diplomatic Missions and International Organizations resident in Tirana, senior government officials, media representatives, and officials from academic and cultural institutions and members of Indian community. Some notable attendees were Chief Guest H.E. Ms. Megi Fino, Deputy Minister, Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs (MEFA), Mr. Endrit Yzeiraj, Deputy Minister of Finance and Mr. Armand Skapi, Secretary General of MEFA among others.
2. Ambassador Ravindra Prasad Jaiswal, in his remarks highlighted the significance of India’s Republic Day, India’s growing role on the global stage, tenets of India’s Foreign Policy as dialogue, diplomacy, cooperation, and partnerships guided by “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam” for achieving global peace and prosperity while focusing on developments in India-Albania bilateral relations and embassy’s own activities in the last one year along with growing educational and tourism linkages and ensuing optimism as the two countries mark 70 years of establishment of bilateral diplomatic relations.
3. Ms. Megi Fino, in her remarks conveyed the warmest congratulations on behalf of the Government of Albania and lauded the age-old strong bilateral relations, underscoring its cultural significance and people to people ties.
4. The guests were served delicious home-made Indian food sourced from Embassy Residence, along with Albanian cuisine served by the hotel. Some pictures from the event are attached.
